Thanksgiving Baskets

Help families in Wichita Falls have a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Pick up a grocery list, and/or a monetary donation
envelope. Then return your monetary donation envelope to the Church Office, or your bag filled with food items to either the Church Office or to the Fellowship Hall Stage, by Sunday, November 12. A turkey and a roasting pan will be added to complete the baskets for delivery.

We will need help to deliver these Thanksgiving Baskets on Saturday, November 18. It’s best to deliver in pairs, so if you don’t have a partner, we will provide one for you. Arrive in the East parking lot of the Church at 9:45 am. Remain in your car as we wait for everyone to gather. If you are able to help deliver Thanksgiving Baskets, you must sign up by calling the Church Office

Coats for Kids

The Mary Sue Winstead Memorial Coats for Kids through “Partners in Education” provides new coats for elementary students. Each year WFISD teachers and counselors are asked to provide information on students most in need of a coat. It is our goal to fill every coat request and deliver the coats to the children by Thanksgiving. Coats for Kids is funded solely by donations. The average cost is $25 per coat. Since 1998, over 10,000 requests for coats have been filled. We welcome volunteers to help sort and fill requests. If you would like to donate toward the purchase of coats or volunteer to help fill requests, please contact the church.

Pantry Sunday

Non-perishable food items are collected on the FIRST Sunday of each month to benefit the services of Interfaith Ministries, Inc.* Food items are collected in the church office and delivered to Interfaith later in the week.  Each month the Challenger will provide a list of the current needs at Interfaith.*Interfaith Ministries, Inc. is an emergency center for families who struggle financially because of medical emergencies, loss of employment, car repair, or other unexpected expenses. Interfaith provides financial assistance with rent, utility bills, deposits, prescriptions, and other basic needs, and a food pantry is available for food, cleaning products and hygiene items.

Feed My Flock

Jesus said, “I was hungry, and you fed me.” Feed My Flock is a ministry in which wholesome, home-cooked meals are delivered on a periodic basis to members of our church family in need. Providing a simple meal on a regular basis provides respite from their daily challenges and one-on-one fellowship with church members.

We need volunteers to help cook and deliver the food. Financial contributions are always needed and welcome. We are blessed here at First Christian Church and we want to share it with others in our church family and our community. Please help us share our bounty with others.

Please contact the church for more information.
