In the church, the season of Lent is designed to be a time of preparation and spiritual discipline.  You are encouraged to use this Lenten season to grow your faith by learning more about spiritual practices designed to deepen your faith and your relationship with Jesus Christ.

Sign Up for Lenten Devotionals

Faithfully journey through Lent, preparing for the joy of the Resurrection, with help from these daily Lenten devotionals. These email devotions, delivered to your inbox every morning, contain a brief scripture reading, reflection, and prayer.

Wednesday Lenten Series

On Wednesday evenings from February 21 to March 27, deepen your faith by participating in Lenten electives. Each week, we will gather for a simple meal (along with kid-friendly options for our young friends) at 5:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Then, we will share together in communion before choosing an elective to attend:

  • Jesus Revealed Bible Study with Sheri Sutton
  • A Balanced Spirituality with Mark Bender
  • The Journey to Jerusalem (for our young friends) with Claire Baer

40 Days of Outreach

Three of the standard spiritual practices of Lent are prayer, fasting (giving up something), and almsgiving (the giving of yourself/your resources).  To assist you with the third practice, our Outreach ministry has arranged several hands-on service opportunities for the Lenten season.

  • Assist with the Wichita Adult Literacy Council Book Fair at the MPEC – Wednesday, Feb 28 (9:30 am – 12:00 pm or 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm)
  • Provide Spring Break Food Paks for students at Fain Elementary – gather needed items and return by March 6.
  • Fill Blessing Bags at Interfaith Outreach – Tuesday, March 12 (1:00 pm – 3:00 pm) *Kid Friendly
  • Help at the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank – Thursday, March 14 (9:00 am – 12:00 pm)
  • Assist with an Easter Egg Hunt at the Wichita Falls Housing Authority – Monday, March 25 (6:00 pm)

Keep up with all the opportunities to serve during Lent.
