Throughout Christian history, the remains of loved ones have been interred on sacred ground, usually on the grounds of a church. With the passing of centuries, and the inability of congregations to obtain additional land sufficient to meet the need, funeral grounds became places set aside by themselves, in many instances some distance away from the grounds of the church itself. In the last few decades, with the rise in cremation as a mode of burial, many churches have begun to reclaim the ancient tradition of providing a sacred space for the earthly remains of those who have returned to God. Our newly opened columbarium in our Garden of the Cross is now available as a final resting place for the cremains of members of our church family and their loved ones.
