The World Outreach Ministry is offering a few opportunities in which you can serve in our community during the next 40 days.

Shopping for Interfaith Outreach Services:

You may help by collecting items for Interfaith Outreach Services’ clients. Shopping bags are available in the church office, Sunday School rooms and in the Narthex with a list attached to each bag of items needed by clients of Interfaith. The list has a different item for each of the 40 days, but you may collect any or all of the items listed. They are items that are consistently given to the clients of Interfaith.

Mobile Food Pantry:

First Christian Church will volunteer with the Mobile Food Pantry on Wednesday, March 16, at Midtown Manor (400 Burnett St) from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. We need approximately 10-12 volunteers to work the two-sided mobile pantry. Volunteers should arrive by 9:45 am. Please call the church office (940.692.2282) to sign up. This is a great opportunity for families with youth, ages 10 and older. Don’t wait too late to sign up, as this opportunity will fill up fast.

Serve a Meal at Faith Refuge:
First Christian Church will be serving dinner at Faith Refuge on Thursday evening, March 24th from 6:10 – 7:15pm. 10-12 volunteers (16 years of age or older) are needed for this project. All persons volunteering must fill out a background check form three days prior to the volunteer date. You can find the form here. Please put FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH VOLUNTEER on your form.

Meals on Wheels:

Meals on Wheels is in need of delivery drivers. Two routes are available on Thursdays of each week, beginning March 17th through April 14th. This would be a great time for you (and maybe a partner)  to deliver 7-8 meals within an hour. You can volunteer for one time only or for multiple weeks. Before you participate in meal deliveries, you must have a volunteer form submitted with the Kitchen in advance. If you are already in the Meals on Wheels volunteer program, you don’t need to fill out an application. You can pick up a volunteer packet in the church office and bring it back to the church by March 13th. Kim Ballard will pick up your volunteer packets and coordinate your participation with the Meals on Wheels volunteer coordinator. For questions, you can call Kim at 940-257-4581.
